Why Stripe setup matters
Stripe is what lets clients pay online, supports autopay flows, and gives Ratio payout, refund, and dispute visibility.
Until Stripe onboarding is complete, clients can still receive invoices, but online payment collection and payout tracking are limited.
Stripe calculates tax for your Ratio subscription, but client invoice tax rates and exemptions are still managed inside each invoice or project in Ratio.
How onboarding works
Stripe setup is available from the Integrations area in production workspaces. Sandbox workspaces use test payment behavior and may not show the live Stripe connection path in the same place.
- 1Open Settings → Integrations → Stripe.
- 2Start onboarding and complete the Stripe-hosted flow.
- 3Return to Ratio and confirm the connection status changes to active.
- 4If Ratio shows a warning or Stripe says restricted, fix that before relying on live payments.
- Legal business information
- Owner/representative details
- Payout bank account
- Any industry-required verification documents
What to verify after activation
- You can reach the Payments page and see payout status.
- Your first public invoice offers online payment.
- Team members know how refunds and disputes should be handled.
- Any account restrictions appear in your dashboard alerts or Stripe status banners.
Operational rule
If Stripe shows a warning, restricted status, or disabled status, open the message and finish the requested verification before sending more invoices.
